2022 Tree of Life Recap

Hospice of Dubuque hosted the annual Tree of Life Memorial Service May 24, in Washington Park. This special event included inspiring music and reflection. Ann Gibbs shared about the journey of loss and love with her mother. Area musician, Adam Beck, provided lyrics and melodies throughout the service. At the end of the evening, the Tree of Life display was illuminated. The display featured over 1,500 lights representing loved ones remembered and honored.

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend this event. Our thanks to Biechler Electric, Inc. for assistance with the tree display. A special thank you to this year’s Tree of Life advertising sponsor, Behr’s Funeral Home. A heartfelt thank you to our generous tri-state community for their continued support of Hospice of Dubuque. This year resulted in over $64,000 to support the mission of compassionate care.

The Tree of Life ceremony serves as a tradition of honoring loved ones. Tri-state community members felt comfort in the park while reminiscing with friends and family. One attendee shared, “My husband was an avid train collector, and I took it as a sign when I heard the train whistles in the background during the memorial service.” Another person had a beautiful experience, “As the first song was sung, I noticed a leaf fall from the sky. It landed directly in the palm of my hand.”
